About Brenda

Brenda Smith has been decorating and redesigning rooms for as long as she can remember. As a teenager, she would rearrange her bedroom several times a year and would also help out her friends. She couldn't afford to buy new things, so she would take what she had or use thrift store finds and redo them to make them work. She is still doing that today!

Her philosophy is that you don't need a lot of money to have a beautiful home, just imagination!

She studied Interior Design in Arizona and continues to update her expertise with workshops in design, painting, upholstery, new product uses, and more.

While living in Maryland, Brenda owned a decorating and window treatment business.

Brenda enjoys watching the decorating shows on HGTV. When she saw the show "Decorating Cents" she knew that Interior Redesign was something she wanted learn more about. She attended a redesign course through Redesign America in Fort Lauderdale and earned her Interior Redesign Certification. Brenda is also a certified Color Consultant. In 2002, Brenda and her husband moved to Punta Gorda, Florida. After Hurricane Charlie, she saw the need for her services. It was devastating to see all of the destruction that Mother Nature can dish out and she saw this as an opportunity to help people put their lives back together.

In Punta Gorda, Interiors by Design has a shop full of samples of fabrics, wall covering choices, plantation shutters and frames ready to show you what is available. The business services the whole Southwest Florida area, from Naples to Sarasota. And Brenda will come to your home or office to show you ideas in your own setting.
